Job description
Role overview
This is a senior HR leadership opportunity in New Hope, MN for a full-time executive-level director. The organization is a 245D-licensed behavioral health provider supporting more than 200 employees. The role pays $90,000 to $120,000 annually plus bonus potential and follows a hybrid work model with 2–3 days per week in the office.
The position calls for an experienced HR leader who can build scalable people systems, strengthen accountability, support growth, and keep the organization aligned with employment law, 245D requirements, and internal standards. Prior experience in behavioral health, disability services, healthcare, or another regulated human services setting is highly desirable.
Key leadership areas
- Own the organization’s recruitment strategy, including both high-volume direct care hiring and specialized clinical searches.
- Manage HR operations, employee relations, performance management, and compliance activities.
- Drive workforce planning to match staffing needs, licensing obligations, scheduling demands, and growth plans.
- Oversee 245D-related processes such as background checks through NETStudy, MVR clearances, documentation control, and audit preparation.
- Handle compensation, benefits, leave administration, workers’ compensation, unemployment matters, and HR policy management.
- Lead corrective action and performance management processes in a way that supports both accountability and compliance.
- Coach managers and leaders on employee development, performance conversations, and organizational effectiveness.
- Work with executive leadership to implement and maintain EOS people tools, including the Accountability Chart, People Analyzer, Quarterly Conversations, and alignment with core values.
What the employer is seeking
- Deep experience in behavioral health, disability services, human services, healthcare, or a similarly regulated care environment.
- Strong background in HR leadership or comparable people-leadership responsibility within operations.
- Practical understanding of 245D licensing, DHS expectations, NETStudy, MVR processes, and HR documentation requirements.
- Proven ability to lead employee relations, performance systems, compliance work, and organizational change.
- A systems-oriented mindset with a track record of improving hiring, retention, compliance, or workforce processes.
- Experience supporting a multi-site, around-the-clock workforce with frontline staffing challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Human Services, Social Work, Business, or a related discipline.
- Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience.
- Three to five years in an HR leadership role, or in another role with substantial responsibility for people strategy and HR functions.
- Experience using HRIS platforms and workforce data to guide decisions.
- Clear success improving workforce planning, recruitment, retention, accountability, or compliance.
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or a similar advanced HR certification is preferred, though not required if the candidate brings substantial behavioral health leadership experience.
- Experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is preferred but not mandatory; the organization values leaders who embrace accountability and continuous improvement and are willing to learn and use EOS tools.
Compensation and benefits
- Annual salary range of $90,000 to $120,000.
- Bonus eligibility.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Hybrid schedule with 2–3 office days each week.
Additional information
The organization offers direct access to the leadership team, the chance to create and improve HR infrastructure rather than simply maintain it, and the opportunity to help guide a growing business through its next phase of expansion. The workplace is described as collaborative and deeply experienced in behavioral health and human services.

The employer is committed to equal employment opportunity and to building a diverse, inclusive team. Hiring decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
