Job description

Role overview

This is a senior finance leadership opportunity with a partner organization in Canada. The role is designed for someone who can guide financial strategy in a fast-scaling, product-led business that operates at the intersection of technology and data. You will drive planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis to inform executive decisions and support long-term performance. The position is deeply embedded in the business, working closely with leaders across product, sales, marketing, and operations to turn strategy into practical financial plans. A major part of the role involves building reliable models, improving visibility into SaaS performance metrics, and supporting investment decisions. It is a highly influential role with direct interaction with executive leadership and board reporting, while also helping strengthen systems, processes, and the FP&A team.

Responsibilities

  • Own the organization’s budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and broader financial planning cycles, making sure they are aligned across teams and leadership.
  • Create, refine, and manage advanced financial models that support strategic choices, scenario analysis, and growth planning.
  • Work with executive leaders to review business performance, uncover key trends, risks, and opportunities, and turn findings into practical recommendations.
  • Take responsibility for the annual operating plan and quarterly forecast refreshes, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and accountability across functions.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, variance explanations, and performance summaries for leadership and board-level presentations.
  • Use financial analysis to support strategic work such as pricing, product expansion, investment decisions, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Partner with leaders in Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to improve budget allocation and make better use of resources.
  • Build and mentor the FP&A team while encouraging strong analysis, continuous improvement, and high performance.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or similar analytical finance roles, preferably in SaaS or other high-growth businesses.
  • Strong command of SaaS metrics such as ARR, churn, CAC, and LTV, along with deep experience in planning, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • A proven history of working with senior executives such as the CEO, COO, and CFO on strategy and business performance.
  • Advanced skills with financial systems, Excel, and modelling tools, plus experience improving finance technology and related processes.
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights and executive-ready recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to create materials for board discussions.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring or managing finance team members.
  • Strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking, and comfort working in fast-changing environments.

Perks and benefits

  • Competitive base pay, generally positioned against senior FP&A leadership benchmarks in Canada.
  • Equity participation through stock options.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Flexible working arrangements with remote-friendly options.
  • Performance-linked incentives and bonus potential.
  • Opportunity for significant career growth in a high-impact finance leadership role.
  • Direct exposure to executive-level decision-making and company strategy.
