Role Overview
Reporting directly to the CFO and integrating into Wowza's Leadership Team, the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) leads company-wide financial strategy, forecasting, and analysis. This leadership position involves managing the financial planning cycles, interpreting complex financial data for executive decision-making, and developing robust reporting frameworks for the board, private equity sponsors, and lenders. The role encompasses hands-on financial modeling and clear communication across stakeholders. The incumbent either manages a team or is an individual contributor working towards team formation and oversees the FP&A technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the budgeting, monthly, quarterly, annual, and long-range financial forecasting processes aligned with Wowza's strategies and financial objectives.
- Construct and maintain comprehensive financial models incorporating SaaS metrics such as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Gross Dollar Retention (GDR), Net Dollar Retention (NDR), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and Lifetime Value (LTV), along with core operational drivers.
- Provide precise and timely financial reports and KPI dashboards; prepare board presentations and investor communications.
- Handle lender-related reporting, ensuring compliance with credit agreements and covenant obligations.
- Conduct Profit & Loss meetings and collaborate with department heads, offering insightful analyses and strategic recommendations to inform capital allocation and growth decisions.
- Track sales bookings and pipeline metrics to enhance sales performance evaluations and revenue forecasts.
- Assess financial impacts of potential initiatives through ad hoc modeling to support corporate strategy.
- Enhance FP&A tools, processes, and systems to support scalability in a high-growth environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in financial planning and analysis, financial analysis, or corporate/public accounting, particularly within high-growth settings.
- Deep understanding of SaaS/software business models and revenue recognition principles.
- Strong foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and consolidated financial statement preparation.
- Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling with robust data aggregation and analytic capabilities.
- Proven ability to transform complex financial data into actionable insights for executives, boards, and investors.
- Effective leadership skills with a proactive, collaborative approach and sound decision-making under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in software/technology industries and private equity-backed companies.
- Expertise with international subsidiaries and handling foreign currency.
- Familiarity with CRM (HubSpot), accounting software (QuickBooks Online), and BI tools like Alteryx and Tableau.
- Background in mergers & acquisitions, including due diligence, integration, and post-merger optimization.
