Position Summary

The Director of Finance will partner closely with the CFO to ensure strong financial governance across the company and aid department heads in managing their business units effectively. This senior financial leadership role involves strategic contribution, financial oversight, and acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives. The appointment is a 14-month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave.

Key Duties

  • Provide trusted financial counsel to the CFO and executive leadership regarding company performance.
  • Manage monthly management reports, profit and loss forecasting, and prepare board reporting packages.
  • Work collaboratively with sales, manufacturing, quality and regulatory, and research and development teams to deliver financial insights supporting strategic decisions.
  • Produce half-yearly and yearly financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.
  • Lead the bi-annual audit process to achieve unqualified audit opinions.
  • Ensure compliance with international tax regulations, including transfer pricing and United States tax filings.
  • Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
  • Manage payroll processes and oversee delegated financial authorities throughout the organization.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for the Finance department.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) designation with 8 to 10+ years of commercial finance experience.
  • Experience from a Big 4 accounting firm is highly valued.
  • Strong technical expertise in financial reporting and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Capability to adapt and perform in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred but not mandatory.
