About the Opportunity

LMG Staffing Solutions is managing a confidential recruitment for an established and expanding government contractor specializing in manufacturing, product distribution, and federal professional services. The company is looking for an experienced and detail-focused Director of Finance to oversee full financial and accounting operations.

Position Overview

This leadership role involves managing all financial functions including accounting, compliance, and reporting. Deep knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, government contracting finance, and operations in manufacturing/distribution sectors is essential. The candidate will also collaborate closely with senior management to drive business growth through enhanced financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Deltek Costpoint accounting software, including project accounting and configurations
• Supervise employee timesheet processing, labor allocations, and monthly accruals for paid time off
• Manage government contract invoicing through platforms such as WAWF, IPP, and GSA
• Handle vendor invoice processing, payments, and vendor account maintenance
• Oversee accounts receivable functions including receipts and collections
• Conduct bank reconciliations and transactions
• Track and reconcile revenues, billings, project income, and contract profitability
• Maintain accurate credit card and intercompany transaction records
• Calculate and reconcile indirect cost pools, fringe benefits, overhead, and G&A rates
• Setup and administer accounts, projects, employee data, and vendor profiles in Costpoint
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly financial statements, executive reports, cash flow analyses, budgets and forecasts
• Support inventory accounting, production reporting, and financial controls for manufacturing and distribution
• Work alongside Operations, Program Management, HR, and senior leadership to monitor contract performance and project spending rates
• Drive financial process enhancements, reinforce internal controls, and prepare for DCAA audits
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, DCAA, and government contracting standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, CGFM, or CMA are advantageous
• At least seven years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management
• Advanced expertise in Deltek Costpoint is mandatory
• Substantial experience working with government contractors
• Comprehensive understanding of DCAA compliance, FAR regulations, indirect cost structures, and cost-plus accounting
• Experience in inventory management and financial operations within manufacturing or distribution is highly desirable
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
• Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with upper management

Work Environment

This full-time role is located onsite in Fredericksburg, VA, reporting directly to executive leadership. The Director of Finance will be vital in preserving the organization's financial stability and developing scalable processes to support growth.
