Job description

Position Summary

PSQ Productions invites applications for the role of Director of Finance, responsible for leading the company’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting oversight, and financial analysis for events across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive comprehensive financial planning, forecasting, and cash flow management at the company-wide level.
  • Oversee the master budget as well as detailed budgets for events, venues, and departments.
  • Evaluate operating results, profitability of events, revenue streams, and cost patterns to identify risks and opportunities for operational enhancement.
  • Develop financial models, conduct scenario analyses, and prepare executive-level reports to support strategic decisions including investments and pricing strategies.
  • Design and present clear financial dashboards and presentations for leadership review.
  • Manage capital expenditures forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Conduct profitability analyses across revenue categories, departments, and business segments as required.
  • Supervise event financial activities including forecasting, settlements, reconciliations, and post-event reporting.
  • Compare event outcomes to budgets and forecasts to detect variances and improvement prospects.
  • Track ticketing, settlement, and revenue for concerts, sports, VIP experiences, venue rentals, private events, and productions.
  • Validate invoices against contracts, quotes, deposits, vendor expenses, and settlement agreements.
  • Manage invoicing, collections, payment tracking, and reconciliation procedures involving venues, clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Maintain thorough financial reporting and settlement records for internal use, talent buyers, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Ensure timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting adhering to company policies and regulations.
  • Strengthen and uphold internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Develop policies related to revenue management, expenditure monitoring, vendor contracts, contractor bidding, taxation, and event modifications.
  • Provide support for audits, tax filings, compliance checks, insurance, and contract reviews.
  • Create and maintain standardized operating procedures for accounting and financial workflows.
  • Champion finance process improvements, standardization of reports, and technology optimizations involving Sage, Momentus, Ramp, Google Drive, and OneDrive.
  • Identify and implement strategies to boost operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Establish scalable financial infrastructure to support expansion across events, venues, and productions.
  • Partner closely with HR, Operations, Ticketing, Marketing, Food & Beverage, Production, and leadership to gather and analyze financial data.
  • Review payroll allocation, labor reports, timesheets, and event labor tracking with HR and Operations.
  • Lead and mentor finance personnel through training, performance management, and continuous improvements.
  • Support additional finance and operational projects aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial principles, GAAP compliance, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial strategy development, process optimization, and complex budget management.
  • Strong analytical skills with capacity to simplify complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced capabilities in financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow oversight.
  • Experienced with accounting software, ERP, and financial reporting tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills for managing multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills with a focus on team building and talent development.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in live entertainment, venue management, event production, hospitality, or sports industries.
  • Familiar with ticketing, settlement, and revenue platforms such as Tixr or TicketSpice.
  • Experience handling multi-entity or event-based financial operations.
  • Knowledge of tax law updates, compliance, and event financial frameworks.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges from $100,000 to $130,000 USD based on location, credentials, experience, and skills. Bonus opportunities might be available dependent on company and individual performance.
