The Hoxton is preparing to launch its second hotel in Germany, located in Hamburg—a city known for its captivating architecture, extensive canal network, parks, cultural venues, and vibrant culinary scene. Situated within the exciting Alter Wall redevelopment project, The Hoxton Hamburg will offer 188 varied guest rooms, a spacious lobby bar, a ground floor restaurant, an elegant rooftop restaurant, and The Apartment, a signature meeting and event space.

Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Director of Finance to lead financial operations at The Hoxton Hamburg, ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and strategic financial planning aligned with the hotel's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain strong financial oversight within a secure control framework.
• Hold ultimate accountability for maintaining precise accounting records and compiling statutory financial reports for the self-accounting hotel operation.
• Oversee finance relationships with hotel operations and head office finance teams, ensuring high-quality service and accurate inputs.
• Manage finance-related aspects of our owner partnership.
• Lead management of balance sheets, profit & loss, cash, and capital.
• Produce relevant, innovative, and value-added management reporting and analytics.
• Provide reliable management information and performance metrics that incorporate benchmarking and key performance indicators using balanced scorecards.
• Enhance and streamline financial systems for improved efficiency and data quality.
• Ensure user training is conducted effectively and challenge non-value-adding processes.
• Collaborate with teams to eliminate errors at their origin and revise processes accordingly.
• Steer financial planning and forecasting to align with strategic goals.
• Support the General Manager and lead the finance team with a strategic focus on value creation.
• Manage budget formulation, review, and approval processes.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performance finance team while preparing for succession.
• Drive continuous development and training within the finance function.

• An ability to balance methodical, process-driven methods with creative problem-solving to meet deadlines.
• A qualified accountant designation is advantageous.
