Overview
Step into a unique leadership opportunity at the new Goddard School in Lenox Hill, a modern 15,000 sq. ft. facility designed with bright, spacious classrooms and multipurpose rooms to encourage children's learning through play, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day school operations ensuring alignment with brand, regulatory, and policy requirements.
- Recruit, train, oversee, and support the education staff to foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Implement and maintain the Wonder of Learning® curriculum, encouraging child curiosity, individual growth, and a love for learning.
- Engage with families and community members to strengthen relationships and promote the school.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to ensure a safe, clean, and prepared environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field.
- Possession of a New York State teaching certification in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, or Special Education (Birth–2nd or 1st–6th grades).
- Minimum of three years teaching experience in early childhood education plus at least one year in a leadership capacity.
- Strong expertise in child development, early learning best practices, staff leadership, professional development, and instructional coaching.
- Exemplify the values and attitude expected of teachers, fostering a positive school culture.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Pass all required state background checks and meet state educational and credential standards.
- Genuine passion for working with children and dedication to high-quality education.
