About the Role
The customer finance team at GE Aerospace plays a critical role in supporting customers in securing third-party financing and managing credit risk. This team collaborates extensively with airlines, banks, funds, and financers to facilitate asset-backed and unsecured financing for aircraft, engines, parts, and overhauls. They also partner with financial institutions to implement Letters of Credit and trade finance solutions to reduce credit risk in commercial agreements.
Active involvement in credit assessment model development and macroeconomic credit event analysis supports the management of customer receivables, including detailed airline evaluations for senior leadership. The team aligns efforts with similar units at other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) when appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive engagement with financiers, customers, and investors to create innovative funding arrangements solving customer needs and promoting growth.
- Collaborate across functions such as Sales, Customer Support, Risk Management, Product Lines, and Finance to enable financing solutions that support transactions and achieve targets related to revenue growth, risk mitigation, and shop visits in the Asia region.
- Establish trusted advisory relationships with treasury and financing teams at airlines throughout Asia.
- Develop connections with Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) in Asia, advocating for support of GE Aerospace and its clientele.
- Oversee reporting and asset management for financing transactions within the Asian market.
- Provide insights on Asian airlines during regional and global reviews, partnering with credit risk teams on periodic airline risk assessments.
- Coach commercial teams in the region on financing product offerings and market trends.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree required along with at least 15 years of professional experience.
- Well-established network among financial institutions across Asia.
- Proficient in analyzing financial statements.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, capable of navigating ambiguous situations.
- Experience handling both cross-border USD and local currency financings.
- Proven success in building senior-level relationships within client organizations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees in economics, business, or related fields.
- Previous independent account management experience.
- Exposure to large-ticket or industrial sector financing; familiarity with trade finance and Letters of Credit is advantageous though aviation-specific knowledge is not mandatory.
- Ability to influence without direct authority and collaborate effectively across dispersed teams.
