About the Role

The Director of Consumer Insights at Finch Brands leads client engagements by combining account management with deep research expertise. This role acts as the primary liaison for up to 3-4 clients, managing diverse quantitative and qualitative market research projects that inform strategies for Fortune 500 companies and startups across multiple sectors. The director ensures top-tier deliverables and client satisfaction, elevates internal team performance, and advances insightful storytelling grounded in robust data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client accounts and projects, being the central contact for all client-related inquiries while ensuring timely, scoped, and high-quality outputs. Manage requests that may extend beyond original project scopes.
  • Serve as a strategic consultant for clients, guiding them through complex research requirements and interpreting findings to inform decisions.
  • Oversee research processes from planning through execution, including designing learning agendas and research tools. Lead analytical storytelling that translates data into actionable insights and support junior team members throughout all project phases.
  • Direct the internal team to maintain high standards in deliverables and promote team development and coaching opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, sociology, market research, statistics, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in either client or supplier-side research roles, with proven success in leading and expanding client relationships.
  • At least 2 years managing multifaceted research projects related to consumer brands, products, or behaviors.
  • Over 2 years of experience in managing and mentoring teams, fostering professional growth.
  • Capability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multitasking proficiency.
  • Strong aptitude for integrating complex information to generate comprehensive insights.
  • Proficiency in designing and programming quantitative and qualitative research instruments like questionnaires and moderator guides.
  • Marine knowledge of financial and operational management pertinent to the research function.
  • High expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), especially in data manipulation, formulas, and visualization.
  • Hands-on experience in data analysis and reporting using statistical software such as MarketSight, Q, R, or SPSS.
  • Excellent storytelling skills capable of framing research findings in compelling, actionable frameworks.
  • Flexible problem-solving attitude focused on both standard and innovative research methods.
  • Superior project management skills to balance diverse priorities, client needs, and team workloads with a sharp attention to quality assurance and detail.
