Highline Premier FC (HPFC) is a community-oriented youth soccer club serving around 500 players from varied communities including Burien, West Seattle, and White Center. The club supports players from Under 8 to Under 19, competing in leagues such as the Regional Club League, Elite Academy League, and Washington Premier League. HPFC's mission involves using soccer to foster life lessons, community connection, and player development into ambassadors for their community.

Role Overview

The Director of Coaching is the senior soccer leadership position at HPFC, responsible for creating and sustaining a unified, player-focused coaching philosophy throughout the club. This role involves overseeing the Boys and Girls Directors of Coaching, setting coaching standards, and ensuring alignment with the club's vision and developmental goals across all teams and age groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, communicate, and uphold the club's technical vision, coaching philosophy, curriculum, and defining playing styles.
• Guarantee consistent application of technical and developmental standards across genders, ages, leagues, and competition levels.
• Create and maintain a clear player development trajectory from youngest teams to senior competitive squads.
• Guide the growth and improvement of HPFC's soccer programs through strategic leadership.
• Assess and integrate new coaching practices, player development trends, and soccer technologies.
• Ensure all coaches and program directors align their activities with HPFC's mission and developmental strategies.
• Oversee and support Boys and Girls Directors of Coaching with goal setting, evaluations, staff management, and conflict resolution.
• Promote collaboration across boys' and girls' programs to avoid duplication and misalignment.
• Design and enforce a standardized club process for coach evaluation, observation, feedback, and development.
• Conduct direct observations of coaching sessions and facilitate professional development initiatives.
• Manage coaching recruitment, assignments, retention, and ensure coaching standards compliance.
• Develop and maintain a year-round, age-appropriate curriculum with clear developmental objectives across player stages.
• Supervise club-wide player evaluation, placement, trials, roster formation, and progression protocols.
• Engage families and community through transparent communication about development philosophy and program expectations.
• Collaborate on annual club planning including budgets, staffing, and strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Mandatory U.S. Soccer National B License or equivalent.
• Minimum seven years in competitive youth soccer coaching with experience leading coaching teams.
• Proven ability to develop coaching curricula and player development models.
• Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 and club management platforms.
• Compliant with background checks, SafeSport, and risk management training requirements.
• Current or obtainable certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and Washington State residency by employment start.
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Higher coaching qualifications such as U.S. Soccer National A License or equivalent advanced diplomas.
• Previous roles as Director of Coaching or Technical Director.
• Experience with Elite Academy, ECNL, MLS NEXT, RCL, or similar competitive environments.
• Bilingual skills, especially Spanish, and experience in community and school outreach.
• Experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and leadership development.

Compensation and Work Details

This is a part-time, salaried position requiring 20–30 hours weekly, including evenings and weekends. Base salary ranges from $45,000 to $60,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience. Additional compensation is available for coaching up to two teams at $1,500 monthly each. The position reports directly to the Executive Director and is based in the Seattle metropolitan area including Burien and West Seattle, with remote work flexibility.
