Overview
Adecco is seeking three experienced Directors of Business Development to represent a global provider specializing in integrated food services, workplace solutions, and facilities management. These senior roles require skilled new-business developers who can initiate complex opportunities, engage executive-level decision makers, and secure substantial, long-term contracts.
Available Positions
- Director of Business Development – Defense: Covers the national territory, with preference for candidates located in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Director of Business Development – Corporate Quebec: Based in Montreal, responsible for corporate expansion throughout Quebec. Candidates must be professionally fluent in both French and English.
- Director of Business Development – Corporate Western Canada: Candidates can be located in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Regina, Winnipeg, or other major Western Canadian cities.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement strategic plans for territory growth.
- Identify target organizations and analyze their decision-making hierarchy.
- Develop a robust pipeline consisting exclusively of self-sourced new business opportunities.
- Establish connections with CEOs, CFOs, COOs, procurement executives, and government officials.
- Discover operational and commercial issues through consultative dialogues.
- Collaborate with internal experts to design comprehensive service proposals.
- Navigate complex, long-duration, and politically sensitive sales cycles.
- Lead negotiations for significant multiyear contracts.
- Build consensus and support across various internal departments such as operations, finance, legal, and leadership.
- Successfully close new profitable business and spot opportunities for cross-selling.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in senior-level B2B business development roles.
- Proven ability to independently originate and secure new business deals.
- Experience managing large geographic territories autonomously.
- Strong capability to engage and influence executive leadership.
- Background in selling complex service offerings or enterprise solutions.
- Exemplary commercial acumen, negotiation aptitude, and professional demeanor.
- Skilled in coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing concurrent opportunities.
- Willing and able to travel approximately 50% to 60% of the time.
Although experience in food services, facilities management, workplace services, government contracts, or defense sectors is advantageous, candidates from enterprise technology, automation, professional services, consulting, fleet services, or other advanced outsourced-service industries are also encouraged to apply.
Additional Requirements
- For the Quebec role, bilingual proficiency in French and English is mandatory.
- Familiarity with government procurement processes, public sector stakeholders, or defense contracting is highly beneficial for the Defense role.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary between $120,000 and $135,000, with potential flexibility for exceptional applicants.
- Annual car allowance estimated at $8,900.
- Significant commission potential linked to net-new profitable business, with a target commission around $144,000 at full quota.
