About the Company
Our client has been a leading force in welding and industrial equipment across Ireland since 1990. They offer supply, service, and rental options for professional welding machinery, consumables, and advanced solutions including orbital and laser welding systems, CNC plasma machines, and collaborative welding robots.
Role Overview
We seek a motivated and commercially savvy Business Development Manager to join the team. This role focuses on expanding the customer base throughout Ireland by securing new business opportunities. This position involves field work and relies on building strong relationships, suited for someone experienced in sales within trade and industrial supply sectors who can effectively engage with ground-level personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in fabrication, construction, engineering, and manufacturing industries.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing accounts and key decision-makers.
- Promote a full product range including welding equipment, consumables, hire solutions, and specialized systems.
- Develop and implement a structured call plan to efficiently cover the assigned territory across Ireland.
- Collaborate closely with internal technical and service teams to deliver appropriate solutions and post-sale support.
- Aim to consistently meet and surpass assigned sales targets and KPIs.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities and pipelines within the CRM system.
Candidate Profile
- Proven success in field sales or business development roles within tools, trade, or industrial supply sectors; experience with companies like builders’ providers, Hilti, Toolbank, tool hire, or industrial distributors is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of construction, fabrication, or engineering trades and sales approaches to these markets.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a natural talent for fostering relationships.
- Highly self-driven, organized, and able to work independently in a field-based role.
- Possession of a full, clean Irish driving license is mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary dependent on experience, plus a performance-based commission.
- Company vehicle or car allowance provided.
