Job description
About the opportunity
A specialist flavors and ingredients group is seeking a senior commercial leader to strengthen its flavor division in Munich. The position sits at senior sales director level and reports into the Business Unit Managing Director. It is also part of both the regional EMEA and global sales leadership structure, with a direct mandate to support and deliver a five-year commercial growth plan for the business.
What you will do
- Shape and implement category management approaches for the flavor portfolio to support sales expansion and margin improvement.
- Study market movements, customer feedback, and competitor activity to uncover new commercial opportunities and translate them into actionable growth plans.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customers and external stakeholders so that business needs are understood and customer satisfaction remains high.
- Work closely with internal teams across international locations, including the US and Europe, to keep priorities aligned and execution coordinated.
- Partner with the R&D and Marketing teams on go-to-market activity, marketing initiatives, and the launch of new products.
- Help open new markets and develop distributor partnerships.
What the role requires
This position is intended for an experienced senior sales professional from the B2B flavors and ingredients space. The company is looking for someone who has already operated at Senior Sales Manager, Sales Director, or equivalent leadership level. The right candidate should have strong familiarity with the Europe-wide food and dairy market, be highly effective in communication, and be comfortable driving sales in a specialized category without direct team-management responsibility. A solid track record in category management and commercial growth is essential.
Additional information
This is an individual contributor role, so the successful candidate will not manage a team directly. German and English are mandatory. French would be a useful advantage. The role calls for a proven background in building market presence, working with distributors, and turning category strategies into measurable business growth.
