Job description
Role Overview
As the Director of Housing Strategy and Investment, you will lead Homes Victoria's budget planning and business case development, transforming funding decisions into strategic initiatives. Your focus will be on enhancing social and affordable housing strategies and implementing reforms across the housing system to improve outcomes. The unit also manages the operational and tenancy aspects of the Affordable Housing Rental Scheme and designs initiatives to expand affordable housing stock.
Collaboration with government bodies, stakeholders, and sector partners is central to fulfilling the government's pledge to boost social and affordable housing availability.
Note: This is a part-time, job share position spanning five years.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer the creation of Homes Victoria's budget strategy and develop budget business cases related to services and capital projects.
- Lead negotiations and champion capital investment proposals while continuously refining the supporting evidence base for investments.
- Convert funding decisions into strategic action by executing annual and long-term plans, leveraging vital relationships across the Department.
- Guide the formulation of social and affordable housing strategies and oversee the rollout of significant strategic initiatives.
