The corporate headquarters will relocate to Rock Hill, South Carolina in July 2026. Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Rock Hill, SC five days per week to be considered.

Role Overview

The Head of Culture will be responsible for safeguarding, expanding, and putting into practice the company’s culture as the business continues to scale. The role exists to reinforce a workplace where high performance and genuine care work together, helping leaders and teams deliver business outcomes while making people feel supported, appreciated, and connected to a larger purpose.

The ideal candidate is a service-oriented and strategic leader who can translate mission into action, balance empathy with accountability, build trust across all levels, and help leaders strengthen a high-performance culture in which employees feel empowered and engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Build and direct the company-wide culture strategy so it stays aligned with business goals, company purpose, and core beliefs.
  • Work with the Chief People Officer and other People Department leaders to weave culture into hiring, onboarding, performance management, leadership development, and recognition programs.
  • Advise senior leaders on culture, employee engagement, and overall organizational health.
  • Provide pastoral support to employees during periods of difficulty, change, or crisis.
  • Create and manage a scalable chaplaincy approach across locations and microenterprises.
  • Set up inclusive spaces for encouragement, reflection, and personal support while respecting different beliefs and backgrounds.
  • Help leaders manage sensitive employee matters with discretion, empathy, and care.
  • Coach leaders to demonstrate culture through their daily behavior, decisions, and communication.
  • Partner with the Head of Extra Miler Development to design and deliver culture-centered leadership training focused on service, accountability, and care.
  • Guide leaders in balancing performance expectations with genuine team care.
  • Reinforce the expectation that leaders act as culture carriers first and operators second.
  • Lead and grow the company’s community engagement strategy in line with its purpose.
  • Work with local leaders to create service opportunities for employees in their communities.
  • Build relationships with community organizations and outside partners.
  • Ensure community involvement is authentic, meaningful, and embedded in the culture.
  • Promote consistent, purpose-led communication across internal platforms, leadership channels, and events.
  • Collect and share stories that show the culture in action.
  • Partner with Communications and People teams to keep cultural messaging clear and consistent.
  • Serve as a visible and trusted voice for culture across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in organizational leadership, ministry, chaplaincy, or people/culture-related functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and lead company-wide initiatives.
  • Background in pastoral care, counseling, ministry leadership, or a related setting is preferred.
  • Strong commercial understanding and the ability to connect culture with business performance and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and relationship-building skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and trustworthiness.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role requires regular communication with coworkers and external stakeholders in person, by phone, email, and other computer-based messaging tools. The position may also involve moving around the workplace, handling objects, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, extended working hours, and travel.
