Overview
The Director of Global Marketing leads the creation and execution of MaxCyte's worldwide marketing strategy to drive commercial advancement, enhance brand recognition, and generate qualified demand for its cell engineering platform, products, and services. Reporting to the General Manager, Americas, this role works collaboratively with Sales, Product Management, Business Development, and Scientific teams to deliver integrated marketing initiatives that boost customer engagement and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business goals to drive revenue and market expansion.
- Collaborate closely with Sales to develop campaigns that produce qualified leads and accelerate sales pipelines.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to spot new marketing opportunities.
- Own the global brand strategy, ensuring unified messaging across customer channels.
- Oversee creation of marketing collateral, sales tools, scientific content, digital assets, technical materials, and customer communications.
- Manage the corporate website to improve user experience, SEO, and digital engagement.
- Lead PR efforts to enhance MaxCyte's presence among customers, partners, industry groups, and scientific media.
- Support corporate announcements related to scientific, commercial, and business milestones.
- Develop integrated demand generation campaigns utilizing digital marketing, email, paid media, social media, events, webinars, and content marketing.
- Measure and optimize campaign effectiveness using KPIs.
- Work with Sales to improve lead quality, conversion rates, and marketing's contribution to the sales pipeline.
- Leverage marketing technology and analytics to boost customer engagement and efficiency.
- Plan and execute global conferences, trade shows, and events strategy.
- Identify opportunities for customer engagement via scientific meetings, education programs, webinars, and thought leadership.
- Lead development of customer presentations, product literature, and promotional materials.
- Lead and mentor a small, high-performing marketing team, managing external agencies and vendors for quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Establish efficient processes, prioritize tasks, and improve team workflow.
- Prepare and manage the annual marketing budget.
- Track marketing metrics such as lead generation, website traffic, campaign ROI, digital performance, and brand awareness, recommending improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Life Sciences, Business, or related scientific field.
- Over 10 years of progressive B2B marketing experience, ideally in biotechnology, life sciences, medical devices, or healthcare sectors.
- Proven track record of developing integrated marketing programs delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Expertise in digital marketing, content marketing, website management, SEO, email, and social media marketing.
- Proficiency with CRM and marketing automation tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Pardot.
- Strong project management skills balancing strategic planning and hands-on execution.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and motivating marketing teams.
- Skilled in managing marketing budgets and external agencies.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple departments including Sales, Product, Scientific Affairs, and Leadership.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30%, including internationally.
Preferred Experience
- Marketing experience related to cell therapy, gene editing, biologics, or advanced research technologies.
- Exposure to global commercial organizations.
- Familiarity with scientific conferences, key opinion leader (KOL) engagement, and life sciences purchasing processes.
