Overview
The Director - Development Finance Business Partner plays a vital role in advancing the organization's operational and strategic goals by delivering financial leadership and expert business insights. Acting as a key advisor to business leadership, this position drives financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance evaluation, and investment analysis for designated business units and development portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development, delivery, and corporate teams to translate strategic plans into robust financial models.
- Manage the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and long-term business strategies.
- Perform comprehensive financial analyses to evaluate business trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Track actual financial performance against targets, offering variance assessments and corrective recommendations.
- Generate detailed management reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators for executive review.
- Assess project economics, funding needs, and financial feasibility in partnership with project and development teams.
- Evaluate commercial contracts, procurement approaches, and significant financial commitments from a fiscal perspective.
- Support month-end and quarter-end reporting cycles through analysis and performance commentary.
- Ensure financial data accuracy and consistency by collaborating closely with accounting, treasury, tax, procurement, and other finance departments.
- Lead initiatives to enhance reporting quality, planning processes, data integrity, and financial systems.
- Address internal and external stakeholder information requests, including those from the Board, Public Investment Fund, auditors, and consultants.
Leadership and Team Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of finance professionals.
- Define performance goals and monitor progress against established KPIs.
- Create a culture of high performance emphasizing collaboration, responsibility, and ongoing improvement.
- Develop finance business partnering skills within the team.
- Support talent development, succession planning, and sharing of knowledge across teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 12 years of progressive experience in finance.
- Minimum 5 years in senior finance roles, including finance business partnering, financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or commercial finance leadership.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale development projects, construction, infrastructure, real estate, or asset management sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or closely related discipline.
- Master's degree preferred, especially an MBA or other finance-focused postgraduate qualification.
- Relevant professional accreditation such as CFA, CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent certification.
