Role Summary
The Director of Business Development and Alliance Management will spearhead the identification, evaluation, and securing of strategic partnerships that enhance our drug pipeline and platform technologies. In addition to business development responsibilities, this position oversees alliance management to nurture and maximize the value of collaborations, ensuring alignment with Terray's corporate strategy in the dynamic biotech sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively seek and assess collaboration opportunities in line with Terray's objectives for pipeline and platform growth.
- Develop competitive intelligence and prepare partnering presentations with leadership, showcasing Terray’s models and assets.
- Conduct market and deal benchmarking to inform executive and board-level decision making.
- Lead deal negotiations, structuring, and execution to meet long-term strategic and financial goals.
- Manage due diligence processes and act as liaison between internal teams and external partners.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives by creating and monitoring execution plans to assure target achievements.
- Oversee alliance management activities to maintain effective communication, resolve issues, and fulfill partnership goals.
- Serve as escalation point for partnership challenges, collaborating cross-functionally to achieve resolutions.
- Work with R&D, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure seamless collaboration execution and value delivery.
- Foster strong governance and alignment across a dynamic portfolio of partnerships by liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events, summarizing key insights to inform organizational strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Business, or equivalent; MBA or PhD preferred.
- Over 10 years’ experience in biotech/pharma business development and alliance management, particularly in autoimmune therapeutic areas.
- Proven expertise in forming and managing strategic partnerships, alliances, and licensing agreements.
- In-depth knowledge of biopharma R&D, clinical processes, and regulatory environments; familiarity with software or model licensing with recurring revenue is advantageous.
- Outstanding skills in negotiation, communication, and leadership.
- Capability to excel in a fast-moving, lean biotech setting.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary ranges from $213,000 to $277,150 based on experience, complemented by a structured bonus scheme. Compensation is competitively benchmarked within the industry reflecting role impact and expertise.
