Role Overview
The Director of Brand Engagement will guide the company’s engagement and entertainment approach, using creative storytelling and community building informed by culture and social conversations. This leader will shape the earned brand strategy by growing Paula’s Choice communities of advocates, including creators, consumers, and influencers, while turning the brand vision into authentic engagement across community and social channels.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team working across PR, social media, and influencer marketing.
- Create strong narratives that connect with community and target audiences, with attention to cultural trends, social discussions, and influential voices that can amplify the brand.
- Work closely with marketing, creative, product development, and country teams to ensure communications plans are aligned and executed smoothly.
- Build and roll out a global advocacy strategy, including identifying talent and creator partners to develop content that fits the brand direction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with influencers, brand ambassadors, and media partners to increase brand affinity and engagement.
- Use performance data to monitor KPIs, improve campaign results, and evaluate the effectiveness of activations.
- Take on additional duties as assigned by management.
Job Details
- Location: Hybrid role based at Seattle HQ
- Working hours: Standard Pacific Time business hours, with some flexibility expected
- Physical requirement: Must be able to tolerate extended periods of sitting and screen use
- Travel: Up to 15%
Experience Required
- At least 10 years of experience in social and influencer strategy, specifically in a leadership capacity
- Strong understanding of influencer marketing, social platforms, and how to use them to support business objectives
- Knowledge of emerging channel-performance trends and content strategy approaches
- Hands-on experience with content creation, influencer and ambassador programs, community management, and brand communications
- Background in designing effective influencer campaigns and content strategies

- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to run internal and executive-level meetings and presentations

Pay and Hiring Notes
The estimated annual base pay for this role is USD 155,000 to USD 170,000, depending on experience and location. Compensation is determined using local, national, and industry survey data, along with internal and external equity and labor-market considerations. Final salary may vary by region, cost of living, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for the company’s discretionary bonus plan.
