About the company
Mastercard operates across more than 200 countries and territories, helping support a more sustainable economy in which people, businesses and governments can thrive. Through secure, easy and intelligent digital payment solutions, along with strong partnerships and innovation, the company enables commerce and financial access at scale.
Role overview
Mastercard is looking for a senior commercial leader to oversee its Pacific Islands customer portfolio spanning 13 markets. The position combines strategic account leadership, revenue growth, customer retention, market expansion and executive stakeholder management. You will work with key issuers, acquirers and strategic partners, guide major implementation efforts, and contribute to Mastercard's long-term growth across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Direct the Pacific Islands customer portfolio across 13 markets and drive steady, long-term business growth.
- Serve as the main strategic contact for major issuing and acquiring customers, managing senior-level relationships.
- Create and deliver account growth plans that increase customer engagement, revenue and market share.
- Oversee the rollout and improvement of important customer partnerships in coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Help customers meet their business goals using Mastercard's products, services and solutions.
- Handle commercial discussions, contract work and customer planning cycles.
- Spot selected new business opportunities that reinforce Mastercard's presence in the Pacific Islands.
- Develop trusted relationships with regulators, industry participants and other key market stakeholders.
- Lead and coach a small team while encouraging collaboration across regional and global groups.
- Support efforts that advance digital payment adoption and financial inclusion throughout the region.
What we're looking for
- Extensive background in payments, banking, financial services or a related field, with hands-on customer-facing commercial experience in account management, business development, product, partnerships or consulting.
- Strong knowledge of issuing, acquiring or the wider payments ecosystem is strongly preferred.
- Confident executive presence with experience working with senior customers and decision-makers.
- Proven ability to manage complex implementations, negotiations or large-scale transformation programs.
- Solid commercial judgement and the ability to balance customer priorities with business results.
- Capability to influence stakeholders across complex matrix organisations.
- Comfort working independently, setting priorities and moving quickly in a changing environment.
- Leadership or mentoring experience is beneficial.
- A genuine drive to build trusted relationships and deliver lasting customer value.
Corporate security responsibility
Anyone with access to Mastercard assets, information or networks is expected to treat information security as a core responsibility. This includes following security policies and procedures, protecting confidentiality and integrity, reporting suspected breaches or violations, and completing all required periodic security training.
