Job description

About the organisation

AA New Zealand has been supporting Kiwis on the road for more than 120 years and has become one of the country’s most trusted and well-known brands. What started as a motoring club has developed into a broad, modern organisation serving over a million members through a wide range of products and services.

The business is currently transforming to become more connected, digitally enabled, and purpose-led. This creates opportunities to work across teams, learn new capabilities, and contribute meaningfully as the organisation evolves its platforms and ways of working.

Role overview

AA is looking for a Direct Marketing Executive to help drive renewal and retention activity. This is a practical, delivery-focused position suited to someone who enjoys turning campaigns into action, working with data, and continuously improving how customer communications perform.

You will coordinate and deliver renewal marketing across multiple channels, helping ensure communications reach customers smoothly and on time. The role also sits within an exciting digital improvement journey, giving you the chance to shape smarter ways of engaging members and customers.

What you will do

  • Run targeted renewal campaigns across channels such as email, SMS, and direct mail.
  • Support the execution and refinement of renewal and retention communications.
  • Use customer data and campaign outcomes to spot opportunities for better performance.
  • Organise briefs, schedules, and stakeholder inputs so campaigns are delivered on time.
  • Maintain and update marketing materials while keeping messaging consistent across every channel.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Membership, Brand & Content, Contact Centres, and others.
  • Coordinate with agencies and external suppliers to produce quality campaign materials.
  • Assist with reporting and tracking of renewal campaign results.

What you will bring

  • Genuine interest in marketing and a strong desire to learn and develop.
  • Sharp attention to detail and solid planning skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a positive attitude.
  • Curiosity about data, insights, and how they can improve campaign outcomes.
  • Clear communication skills and confidence working with different stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment.

Benefits and work environment

  • Complimentary AA membership for you and your family.
  • An extra day off on your birthday.
  • Hybrid working arrangement.
  • Training and career development support.
  • Discounted insurance.

Additional information

AA offers more than roadside assistance and continues to expand into new areas, creating fresh challenges and opportunities for its people.

The company values diversity and encourages applicants to bring their authentic selves to work. Support is available during recruitment to help candidates participate fairly and comfortably.

Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every listed requirement, as the team is open to considering potential and fit beyond a perfect checklist.
