Overview

The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is Qatar’s first national applied university. It delivers applied bachelor’s and master’s degrees, along with certificates and diplomas across a wide range of disciplines.

UDST serves a community of more than 600 staff and over 7,000 students. The university is known for practical, student-focused education and modern facilities. Its faculty aim to provide strong learning experiences supported by innovative technology, helping graduates build the skills needed to contribute to a knowledge-based economy and support Qatar National Vision 2030.

Responsibilities

The Digital Media Specialist will lead UDST’s online communication efforts, shape its digital presence, and support brand visibility across web and social channels.

  • Design and maintain a digital media strategy and plan for the university.
  • Oversee the ongoing development and upkeep of the university website and broader web presence.
  • Plan and implement social media strategy across platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant channels.
  • Develop and manage the corporate intranet, including its day-to-day administration.
  • Keep current on digital media tools, platforms, and functionality, including social media and email.
  • Act as the university’s digital media specialist by tracking trends, identifying new opportunities, and recommending best practices and new initiatives.
  • Create advertising campaigns for social platforms, including video content, and monitor performance and budgets.
  • Produce, edit, publish, and distribute daily content such as text, images, and videos that encourage audience engagement.
  • Coordinate with different business units to gather timely information, news, and achievements that strengthen the university brand.
  • Review digital news coverage and flag sensitive or negative press to the communications manager to help protect the university’s public image.
  • Analyze website and social media traffic, engagement, and external media responses, then share insights and recommendations with the communications manager.
  • Carry out other job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications is required.

Applicants must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in communications or a related field.

Strong written and spoken fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
