About the Role
This is a full-time, 12-month opportunity with the possibility of extension for a Digital Marketing Executive focused on Japan. The position is based in the Battersea office and supports the launch and continued expansion of the Japanese eCommerce platform. The role suits someone who is proactive, highly organised, and comfortable working across digital marketing, content, CRM, analytics, SEO, and cross-functional coordination.
Digital Marketing and Website Management - Japan
- Lead the digital marketing and editorial direction for the Japanese market, ensuring it supports both brand identity and commercial goals.
- Plan, manage, and improve the performance of on-site content such as homepage features, editorial content, blogs, and campaign landing pages.
- Make sure all Japanese market content feels locally relevant, stays consistent with the brand, and performs effectively.
- Coordinate localisation from start to finish, working with internal teams, translators, and outside partners to adapt global campaigns and assets for Japan.
- Use data insights to keep improving the website experience, engagement levels, and conversion performance.
CRM and Lifecycle Marketing - Japan
- Set up, configure, and maintain the Japanese CDP environment.
- Create and deliver local CRM plans, including email campaigns and lifecycle marketing activity.
- Build audience segments, personalisation logic, and automation journeys for Japanese customers.
- Review campaign results, identify opportunities, and refine CRM activity to strengthen retention and customer lifetime value.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for internal teams and Japanese partners.
Analytics, Data, and Performance
- Implement analytics structures for the Japanese market while keeping them aligned with global standards.
- Own KPI definition, dashboard creation, and performance monitoring across digital and ecommerce channels.
- Protect data quality and tracking accuracy by spotting gaps, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Turn performance data into practical recommendations that support growth and efficiency.
SEO Strategy and Website Ticket Coordination - Japan
- Coordinate SEO activity for Japan across technical, on-page, and off-page workstreams.
- Manage Japanese website tickets through to completion.
- Handle technical SEO requirements in collaboration with developers.
Marketing and Social Media Strategy - Japan
- Support the broader marketing approach for the Japanese channel and maintain consistency across digital touchpoints.
- Own the social media plan for Japan, including content direction, scheduling, and performance improvement.
- Align social, CRM, paid media, and on-site content to create a seamless customer journey.
- Partner with local stakeholders to improve brand relevance and audience engagement in the market.
Global Digital Marketing and APAC Support
- Maintain global reporting structures and ensure reports remain accurate, current, and actionable.
- Monitor Google Analytics and other data sources daily, raising any anomalies or inconsistencies.
- Support smaller APAC markets, especially with social media planning and coordination.
- Assist the global marketing team with ad hoc strategic and operational work across channels.
- Contribute to wider digital marketing initiatives beyond Japan while staying aligned with global objectives and best practice.
Operational and Cross-Functional Support
- Check translation quality and consistency across Japanese-language content.
- Support operational, logistical, and retail-related digital projects when needed.
- Serve as a key contact for internal teams and external partners to help ensure smooth delivery of digital work.
Profile and Key Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in digital marketing, content management, CRM or email marketing, or similar positions.
- Fluent Japanese at native level and strong English communication skills.
- Hands-on experience managing localised content and campaigns for Japanese audiences.
- Working knowledge of CDP systems, ideally Ometria, along with email and CRM best practices.
- Experience collaborating with agencies, partners, and developers.
- Good understanding of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and GA4, plus SEO fundamentals and agency coordination.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and project management capability.
- Preferred background includes ecommerce, ideally in a global or cross-functional environment.
- Understanding of Japanese consumer behaviour in digital channels.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms, preferably Salesforce, and localisation tools.
- Basic HTML and CSS knowledge would be an advantage.
