Digital Finance Business Analyst

Role Overview

The Digital Finance Business Analyst plays a crucial role within the Digital Finance team under FP&A, focusing on developing and delivering data and analytical products. This position aims to establish standardized, data-centered finance operations across Lonza’s worldwide CDMO locations by spearheading the finance digitalization efforts. Serving as the liaison between finance teams and technological systems, the analyst design and implement Power BI tools that utilize SAP ERP Finance and Controlling (FICO) data to bolster site-level financial activities, manage performance, and guide decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with site finance teams, controllers, and global process owners to gather reporting needs and convert them into user-friendly Power BI reports
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI concentrating on site financial operations, cost control, and performance monitoring
• Create and sustain solid data models and analytics solutions from SAP ERP FI and CO module data
• Interpret intricate financial data into straightforward, actionable insights for stakeholders without financial backgrounds
• Implement automation for repetitive finance tasks using Power Automate to enhance efficiency and lower manual workload
• Provide finance users with training, documentation, and continuous support to optimize report use and data expertise
• Validate SAP data and reporting logic to guarantee data accuracy and integrity
• Participate in ongoing enhancements of digital finance tools, standards, and practices

Educational and Professional Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields
• Demonstrable experience in finance analytics, business analysis, or reporting roles
• Extensive familiarity with enterprise finance systems and data-driven decision-making support

Required Skills and Technical Knowledge

• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and report distribution
• Strong grasp of SAP ERP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) processes and SAP table structures
• Solid understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Excellent analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Effective communication skills for conveying complex technical topics to business and finance audiences
• Experience with SQL, advanced Excel, and other analytical tools is advantageous
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum framework is a plus
