Senior Strategic Buyer

Overview

Based in Rewari, Haryana, this role as Senior Strategic Buyer within our Indirect Procurement team offers the opportunity to lead comprehensive procurement processes across various sites and categories. You will ensure continuity of business operations, maintain cost-effectiveness, and optimize supplier performance through strategic sourcing and risk mitigation in a global matrix organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end indirect procurement activities in India related to services, materials, spares, and technical equipment.
• Drive strategic sourcing efforts including tendering, negotiations, and contracting for demanding and strategic categories.
• Implement and execute global and regional procurement strategies at the site level, ensuring full compliance and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage supplier relationships focusing on service quality, timely delivery, safety, and sustainability.
• Achieve targets related to cost savings, avoidance, and value creation via structured sourcing and demand management initiatives.
• Collaborate with site and functional leaders to assess business requirements and translate them into effective sourcing plans.
• Lead and cultivate the indirect procurement team in India, encouraging ownership, capability development, and a culture of high performance.
• Maintain adherence to global procurement policies, audits, and systems such as SAP and Ariba.

Candidate Profile

• Significant experience in indirect procurement within chemical, pharmaceutical, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
• Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and managing indirect spend categories.
• Demonstrated skills in overseeing supplier performance and mitigating risks strategically and operationally.
• Experience navigating complex global matrix structures with strong stakeholder management.
• Comprehensive understanding of procurement systems, governance, and compliance standards.
• Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or Business disciplines; engineering background is advantageous.
• Proficient in business English; knowledge of Hindi is a plus.
