Job description
Position Overview
This Dietitian role is based at Aintree Hospital, located just 15 minutes from Liverpool city centre. The position involves collaborating closely with other Band 5 dietitians and receiving strong support from Senior Dietitians within an acute care team. The role offers a rotational workload across various specialties including head and neck oncology—one of England's major centers—as well as Gastroenterology, Critical Care, and Surgery. This variety provides an excellent opportunity to expand specialist clinical expertise, particularly suitable for current Band 5 Dietitians seeking to enhance their skills in a large teaching hospital environment.
Team Environment and Career Development
We prioritize career progression and well-being within a supportive, friendly team setting dedicated to helping you reach your full potential. Newly qualified Band 5 staff benefit from a structured preceptorship program featuring peer support, assigned preceptors, and clinical supervisors to aid professional growth. The Dietetic team, comprising Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants, and Assistant Practitioners, works alongside a specialized Nutrition Team and integrates within the wider Therapies department.
Training and Service Contribution
The role involves training student dietitians and engaging in clinical supervision and development programs for Band 5 staff. You will have opportunities for service enhancement, teaching, conducting audits, and contributing to quality assurance and governance. Education of patients, staff, and colleagues is also a key responsibility.
