Diagnostic Radiographer with MRI Expertise

About The Role

The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh, located on the Easter Bush Campus, is a premier institution specializing in animal clinical care, welfare, and research. We are looking for a qualified diagnostic radiographer skilled in MRI to join our imaging team comprising four radiographers and ten radiologists. The role involves managing diagnostic imaging services for Small and Large Animals, utilizing modalities such as MRI, CT, and radiography to produce high-quality diagnostic images for both clinical and research use.

You will operate both independently and collaboratively to organize and prioritize imaging workloads, maintain and plan the upkeep of imaging equipment, manage image archiving processes, and contribute to instructing veterinary students on diagnostic imaging techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee small animal MRI, CT, and radiography devices.
• Maintain imaging equipment through planned maintenance programs to ensure continuous operability.
• Manage effective archiving of diagnostic images acquired.
• Collaborate within the diagnostic imaging team to ensure smooth functioning of services.
• Support teaching activities for veterinary students concerning imaging procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified diagnostic radiographer with at least two years of experience in MRI.
• Strong interest in animal welfare and teaching roles.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledgeable in radiation protection and MRI safety regulations.
• Willingness to handle animals; animal handling skills are preferred.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as required.
