Job description
Role overview
This position focuses on civil and structural design work for a Singapore-based engineering team. The role involves developing, checking, and finalising structural solutions using analysis software, while ensuring the work meets applicable codes and project requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Create structural models, carry out analysis, and complete the final design using structural analysis tools.
- Examine and sign off on drawings, specifications, work method statements, risk assessments, and other documents tied to civil and structural works.
- Make sure all civil and structural activities follow the relevant laws, regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
- Prepare shop drawings for submission to the client or consultant for review and approval.
- Work with the client, architect, construction team, and M&E design team to close out technical issues and resolve design discrepancies.
- Compile and review calculation reports for submission.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, is required.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are PE certified or whose degree is recognised by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore for Associate level registration.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience is needed.
- Experience in the analysis and design of geotechnical works, concrete structures, steel structures, civil works, or soil-structure interaction is preferred.
- Strong familiarity with engineering design software and analytical tools is necessary.
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for the Engineer position.
