Key Duties

• Drive the application of the Australian Curriculum version 9.0 and Queensland Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Framework (QCARF) in Years 5-6, ensuring curriculum, assessment, and reporting are aligned through evidence-based teaching, moderation, cooperative planning, and data-driven enhancements.
• Enhance teaching quality by providing instructional coaching, mentoring, and facilitating professional learning opportunities to improve pedagogical consistency and student results.
• Assist the Principal by leading school improvement goals, strategic initiatives, change management, and fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, high expectations, and ongoing development.
• Analyze student achievement and wellbeing metrics to guide targeted interventions, extensions, differentiation, and support for diverse learner needs.
• Lead programs aimed at student wellbeing, engagement, and behavior by encouraging inclusive practices that increase participation and achievement.
• Manage Year 6 secondary school transition efforts by partnering with local high schools, organizing orientation, parent involvement, and tailored support plans.
• Develop and lead the Year 5 Aspiring Leaders Program, focusing on cultivating student leadership skills through mentoring, student voice, authentic engagement, and community involvement.
• Oversee the Yugumbir JETS program, promoting leadership, cultural identity, educational motivation, and aspirations for future academic and career paths.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, families, secondary education providers, and community partners, exemplifying ethical leadership consistent with departmental values.
• Exhibit expertise in instructional leadership, curriculum knowledge, data interpretation, organizational efficiency, communication, strategic planning, and dedication to equity and lifelong professional growth.
