Role Overview

The Deputy Principal will join the Executive Leadership Team on a temporary full-time basis until 9 April 2027 or until otherwise specified. This position requires a strong instructional leader with a passion for raising teaching and learning standards, driving student engagement, and leading the Student Engagement portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic initiatives to realize the school's vision centered on teaching excellence, learning enhancement, student engagement, and overall school improvement.
  • Oversee the Student Engagement portfolio by implementing research-backed methods that improve attendance, behavior, wellbeing, and academic results.
  • Enhance teacher skills through targeted instructional leadership, mentoring, and ongoing feedback to optimize classroom effectiveness and student success.
  • Utilize student data on achievement, engagement, and wellbeing to guide strategic decisions, interventions, and improvement efforts.
  • Champion whole-school priorities ensuring the adoption of consistent, evidence-based strategies that drive lasting change.
  • Promote an inclusive culture that fosters high expectations, equity, belonging, wellbeing, and success for all students.
  • Forge strong partnerships with families, community groups, and external agencies to bolster engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Exemplify leadership qualities including strategic planning, effective communication, collaboration, organizational skills, and dedication to continuous professional development.
  • Support the Principal in cultivating a positive, high-performing school environment that empowers staff and strengthens collective capabilities.
