- Co-manage issues and crisis communications, including preparing holding statements, media responses, stakeholder messaging, and communication plans during incidents.
- Enhance GovTech’s media relations strategy, nurturing connections with local/international media, industry commentators, advocates, and opinion leaders.
- Collaborate with the parent ministry and Smart Nation partners to align communications with broader national digital government and Smart Nation strategies.
- Support internal communications such as leadership messages, organizational announcements, and employee engagement around critical GovTech objectives.
- Develop team capabilities through coaching, setting quality standards, streamlining operations, and ensuring strong execution across portfolios.
- Act as senior communications lead for select strategic areas, including cybersecurity communications and branding initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, Public Policy, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in communications, media, marketing, public affairs, or similar fields, with at least five years in leadership roles.
- Strong strategic communications acumen, capable of shaping clear narratives, advising senior leaders, and managing complex stakeholder environments.
- Proven ability to lead integrated communication campaigns across diverse channels including media, digital, social, content, events, and marketing.
- Experienced in issues and crisis communication, maintaining composure and effectiveness during sensitive or rapidly evolving situations.
- Track record in leading and nurturing teams comprising senior communications professionals and team leads.
- Excellent skills in writing, editing, and presenting, adept at translating complex technological, policy, or organizational topics into accessible public messaging.
- Deep understanding of media landscapes, including digital/social trends, public sentiment, and reputation management.
- Experience building and sustaining relationships with local and/or global media outlets.
