Job description

Role overview

This is a senior leadership opportunity based in Dublin for a Deputy Chief Information Security Officer within a major financial services organisation. The role requires being in the office three to four days each week. It places you close to the centre of the business, where security decisions are shaped not only from an operational standpoint but also from a strategic one.

Working in close partnership with the CISO, you will help set security direction, influence policy, and guide the organisation through an increasingly sophisticated threat environment. The position is highly hands-on and executive in nature, with accountability across risk, resilience, compliance, security operations, and digital security.

You will collaborate extensively with teams across Engineering, Product, Digital, Mobile, IT, Operations, and Customer Experience, while also representing the security function at senior leadership level.

Key opportunity

  • Join a senior executive role within a major financial services business in Dublin.
  • Work directly with the CISO and have meaningful input into strategy and policy.
  • Lead a substantial, high-performing security team.
  • Gain exposure to executive, board, and C-level stakeholders in a complex regulated setting.

What the role involves

  • Shaping and supporting security governance and direction across the organisation.
  • Leading teams and processes across incident response, cloud security, regulatory compliance, resilience, and operational security.
  • Partnering with business and technology leaders to embed strong security practices.
  • Representing security at senior internal forums and influencing decision-making at leadership level.
  • Helping the organisation stay prepared for evolving cyber and regulatory challenges.

Experience and background

  • At least 10 years of experience building and leading security capabilities across governance, incident response, cloud security, and compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
  • Comfortable presenting to boards and senior executives, while also engaging deeply on technical matters when needed.
  • Prior experience in a regulated environment is required.
  • Previous CISO experience and professional certifications such as CISSP or CISM would be an advantage.
