Position Overview

We are currently inviting applications for a committed Dental Assistant to join our Wānaka practice. This role is essential in delivering excellent dental care and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients visiting our clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside support to dentists during procedures by preparing treatment areas and sterilizing equipment
  • Maintain precise patient records using dental practice management software
  • Adhere strictly to infection control measures, ensuring all instruments and workspaces are hygienic and organized
  • Welcome and assist patients, assuring their comfort and clear communication throughout their visit
  • Advise patients on pre- and post-treatment care instructions
  • Manage dental supplies by restocking and keeping inventory levels sufficient
  • Support administrative duties, including appointment scheduling and billing tasks when necessary

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM
  • Friday: 8:15 AM – 4:00 PM

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous dental assistant experience preferred, but not mandatory
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with patients and team members
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently
  • Meticulous attention to protocols and detail
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software is advantageous
  • Good understanding of dental terminology, treatments, and equipment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Dedication to high-quality patient care and customer service
