Delivery Driver - Final Mile (Full-Time) - Clanton, AL

Position Overview

The Delivery Specialist role entails transporting purchased goods to customers within a designated market area while upholding established delivery timelines and quality standards. This position focuses on delivering an exceptional customer experience by fostering trust, offering knowledgeable guidance, ensuring safe product transportation, addressing any issues, and managing product returns.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent and dependable attendance.
• Ensure deliveries occur promptly, meeting or surpassing scheduled timings.
• Operate and keep the delivery vehicle and associated equipment, including trailers, clean and well-organized.
• Load, unload, and arrange products safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee safety and operational readiness.
• Keep detailed records of deliveries and any challenges encountered.
• Communicate with customers as needed, providing status updates and addressing concerns.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to create positive and friendly interactions.
• Collaborate with sales team and store staff to fulfill customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage during transport.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company driving policies for safety.
• Manage returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 21 years with at least three years of driving experience and successful motor vehicle record checks.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Possession of a DOT Medical Card as applicable.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Physical ability to navigate both indoor and outdoor work environments promptly and safely.
• Capability to push or pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Proficient operation of job-related equipment to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Capacity to lift and transport heavy and bulky merchandise safely.
• Competence in loading and unloading delivery trucks securely.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Strong time management skills to meet tight schedules.
• Excellent customer service approach with a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interactions with team members and customers.
• Accurate reading, writing, and counting skills to complete documentation.
• Ability to use GPS systems and maps for navigation.
• Willingness to complete all required training.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Regular exposure to mechanical equipment.
• Drive under varied weather and road conditions within assigned markets.
• Moderate noise levels in the workplace.
• Physical activities include sitting, standing (stationary), walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching overhead, and lifting over 50 pounds.
