About the Role
This position is responsible for tracking down and managing recovery opportunities from third parties connected to accidents or losses. The work involves negotiation, coordination with external parties, and, when required, legal follow-up to help maximize recoveries for ASF.
Claims recovery can be a detailed and sometimes difficult process, requiring strong judgment, persistence, and the ability to handle legal and negotiation-related matters effectively to achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Spot possible recovery cases involving third parties linked to accidents or losses.
- Begin legal proceedings whenever recovery through direct resolution is not sufficient.
- Negotiate settlement terms with external parties to secure the best possible recovery value.
- Keep complete and accurate records of recovery actions and final results.
- Prepare and share reports covering recovery progress and outcomes.
- Make sure all recovery activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Pull weekly reports from the system.
- Contact individuals to follow up on collecting recovery amounts.
- Visit government centers and work with them to obtain the required amounts.
- Coordinate with insurers on a weekly and monthly basis to collect outstanding amounts.
- Work toward the targets assigned by management.
- Record collected amounts in the system.
- Issue debit notes and discharge documents through the system.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure collected funds are allocated correctly.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of legal principles relevant to claims recovery.
- Understanding of insurance products, policy coverage, and claims workflows.
- Strong negotiation ability to reach workable settlements.
- Capability to analyze recovery-related data and trends.
- Clear communication skills for dealing with legal counsel, third parties, and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a similar field.
- Professional insurance or claims-handling certifications can be an advantage.
- Tenacity and the willingness to continue working on difficult recovery cases.
- Good problem-solving skills to identify issues and resolve them efficiently.
- Careful attention to detail when documenting cases and tracking progress.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in insurance claims processing or a related area.
- Exposure to legal procedures and negotiation work.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting.
