Job description

Role Overview

Autoleague is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Dealership Accountant to join their team in Maddington, Western Australia. The role offers opportunities for continuous professional growth and involves managing the financial and accounts functions under the supervision of the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle month-end and year-end financial processing tasks.
  • Reconcile control accounts including bank, stock, debtors, and creditors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry to generate the Trial Balance.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS Returns and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
  • Manage cash flow and forecast budgets accurately.
  • Produce monthly financial statements for reporting purposes.
  • Monitor compliance with taxation, audit standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Oversee asset management.
  • Provide management reporting to support business decisions.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates proficiency in all accounting functions up to trial balance and BAS returns.
  • Possesses strong commercial insight, business acumen, and reporting capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Quick learner with a commitment to expanding and refining skill sets.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong independent work ethic and ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Possession of CA or CPA qualification is highly valued.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
