Job Location and Type
This full-time position is based in Al Garhoud, Dubai, UAE, requiring on-site presence.
Role Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounts Receivable Accountant to manage the accounts receivable functions within our finance department. The role involves overseeing the entire accounts receivable process, ensuring timely payments from customers, maintaining precise records, and supporting the organization's cash flow goals.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and process the accounts receivable cycle for both corporate and retail clients.
- Issue accurate customer invoices, debit and credit notes, and statements promptly.
- Track customer accounts for timely payment receipts and execute account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts and maintain up-to-date aging reports.
- Engage in collections through multiple communication channels and adhere to agreed credit terms.
- Escalate high-risk overdue accounts to management.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to resolve billing issues and review customer credit limits with recommended actions.
- Conduct daily to monthly account reconciliations and prepare comprehensive AR aging reports along with monitoring collection efficiency metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Produce management reports detailing overdue balances, collection status, and cash flow forecasts.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Maintain strong client relationships to promptly address billing and payment queries.
- Coordinate interdepartmentally with Corporate Sales, Branch Operations, Reservations, and Customer Service to ensure invoice accuracy and superior customer service while meeting collection targets.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, VAT regulations specific to customer transactions, and support audit processes with proper documentation.
- Partner with Corporate Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Branch teams to resolve account issues and contribute to billing and collection process improvements.
- Participate actively in initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field is required.
- Professional accounting qualifications (such as ACCA, CMA, CPA) are considered advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of Accounts Receivable or Credit Control experience within the UAE is essential.
- Prior experience in the car rental industry is preferred.
