About the Role
The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore invites applicants to join its Data Science Office in a full-time internship position focused on healthcare operational analytics. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to improving healthcare delivery through data-driven insights, working closely with a team of data analysts, biostatisticians, operations staff, clinicians, and hospital management.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and refining operational and simulation models related to outpatient and inpatient hospital services.
- Participate in the data gathering and processing activities essential for developing these operational models.
- Contribute to building machine learning models that support the operational frameworks.
Candidate Requirements
- Educational foundation in Operations Research, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Knowledge and experience with Markov models, discrete event simulations, and agent-based modeling approaches.
- Familiarity with AnyLogic simulation software and Python programming is highly desirable.

Established in 1928, IMH is Singapore’s leading psychiatric hospital located at Buangkok Green Medical Park. It operates approximately 2,000 beds across 50 inpatient wards and 7 outpatient clinics.
