Role overview
The Data Analyst I role focuses on strengthening data handling practices so information is cleaner, more reliable, and ready for analysis within set project deadlines. This position supports the creation of analyzable datasets, improves data quality, and helps streamline processes tied to data cleaning and management.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain custom applications that support data entry, database administration, and reporting needs.
- Help develop data management plans and standards that promote accurate, timely, and high-quality data while supporting quality assurance and control procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data management challenges that come up during research study operations.
- Support staff with technical issues involving electronic and remote record-keeping tools, and provide training that improves the quality of collected data.
- Assist medical students, interns, residents, and program faculty with data queries and statistical reporting.
- Stay current on relevant regulations, methods, and technologies used in data management.
- Contribute to manuscripts and other written materials for both internal and external audiences when needed.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and work experience. A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. The role typically requires 2-3 years of experience in database application or database management work, ideally within a large medical center or healthcare setting.
Technical skills
Expected tools and systems include Word, Excel, and R. SQL and REDCap are preferred.

Compensation
The posted annual salary range for this role is $66,482.07 to $74,250. The final offer may vary depending on experience, education, and operational requirements. Bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, and other benefits are not included in this range.
