Associate Researcher I - Hematology & Medical Oncology

Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Associate Researcher I to join the laboratory of Dr. Ginzburg at the Tisch Cancer Center, within the Hematology/Medical Oncology division. The lab conducts research on iron metabolism's role in both malignant and non-malignant diseases using diverse methods including mouse models, patient samples, microscopy (RNAScope, confocal, FRET), flow cytometry, molecular biology, and biochemistry techniques. This position offers a dynamic and stimulating scientific environment to contribute to ongoing research projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced research experiments tailored to the project's focus.
• Analyze and help interpret experimental data of moderate complexity.
• Conduct assays supporting various research studies.
• Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reviewing data for publications and presentations.
• Maintain meticulous records of experiments, including any protocol variations or errors.
• Manage sample storage with proper labeling and oversee reagents including purchase and storage documentation.
• Carry out additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific or related discipline is required.
• No prior experience is mandatory; however, one year of research experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as tissue culture, DNA isolation, PCR, flow cytometry, electrophoresis, and protein biochemistry is advantageous.
• Experience with microscopy, immunofluorescence, live cell and in vivo imaging is highly desirable.
• Comfortable handling rodents, particularly mice, for experimental purposes.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of standard research concepts and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $58,661 to $80,211, subject to variation based on factors such as experience and education. This range excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or additional benefits.
