Job description

Position overview

This opportunity is for a Data Analyst supporting the Group Strategic Analytics function within the Group Chief Operation Office. The role sits in the Risk, Finance and Treasury Divisional Data Office and reports at Assistant Vice President level in New York, NY.

The team is responsible for shaping the data strategy for risk, finance, and treasury domains. The role centers on change-the-bank work to strengthen data capabilities so they align with updated regulatory expectations and internal data standards. You will work across business groups, infrastructure teams, and major transformation programs that both create and use data.

This position offers exposure to enterprise data management, oversight of important RFT data assets, and support for the lifecycle of data across the organization. The work contributes to improving business processes and regulatory outcomes through better use of data.

What the role involves

  • Contribute to several data modelling and data strategy initiatives, including governance and KPI-related work.
  • Act as a key data analyst for change-the-bank and run-the-bank priorities tied to data management, working with divisional and regional stakeholders.
  • Track regulatory updates affecting data management and perform gap assessments against the bank’s processes.
  • Help implement the Data Quality Control Framework so completeness, accuracy, and timeliness expectations are met for the required RFT data scope and strategic data KPIs.
  • Identify the most important strategic data sets to place under governance and support right-sourcing through strategic platforms.
  • Maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders while representing the RFT data strategy and divisional data office.

Required experience and capabilities

  • Proven ability to turn core data standards into practical, workable implementations.
  • Strong data analysis and data modelling skills, including the ability to work through large data sets and identify critical attributes behind key metrics and reports.
  • Experience tracing data lineage from the final calculation or reporting point back to source applications, including documenting transformations across flows and processes.

Preferred strengths

  • Hands-on familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra and Solidatus.
  • Working knowledge of Python and SQL.
  • Substantial banking experience, ideally in data-management-oriented roles, with 10+ years in the industry.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues in a structured way.
  • Strong organization, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Benefits and workplace

The organization promotes a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment that supports innovation and change. The working model includes flexibility between office and home, along with generous vacation, personal, and volunteer days.

Employees also have access to resource groups that encourage inclusion and community engagement, as well as competitive compensation and benefits. These may include health and wellbeing support, retirement savings plans, parental leave, family-building benefits, educational resources, and matching gift and volunteer programs.

Work arrangement and accommodations

This position is expected to be performed in the New York City office in line with the hybrid working model described for the role.

Reasonable accommodations are available for candidates and employees with a verified disability and/or religious need.

Compensation

The base salary range for this New York City role is $100,000 to $153,000. Final pay may vary based on skills, experience, education, work location, and other relevant qualifications. Incentive compensation and other forms of remuneration are not included in this range.
