Role overview

BOYLE Sports is hiring a Customer Service Assistant for its retail shop in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. Reporting to the Shop Manager, this position is centered on creating a top-quality customer experience through a welcoming, informed, and service-led approach. You will support the Shop Manager and wider team in keeping the store operating smoothly, maintaining standards across the day, handling bets and payouts, and delivering strong customer service. The role also includes opening and closing duties, and at times you may take charge of shop operations.

What the job involves

  • Support the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager with the daily operation of the store.
  • Take responsibility for shop operations when the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager are unavailable, including opening and closing the premises, leading the team, and handling cash processes.
  • Provide a consistently excellent customer experience through friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable service.
  • Process customer bets accurately and efficiently through betting terminals, EPOS, and in-shop transactions, following the correct procedures.
  • Represent the brand positively and help customers understand the company’s digital and multi-channel journey.
  • Work calmly and effectively in a busy, high-pressure retail environment while continuing to learn and improve.
  • Maintain high standards of shop appearance and presentation throughout the working day.
  • Follow all shop procedures, including safety, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Support a strong team culture and contribute positively to a collaborative environment.
  • Promote social responsibility in line with company duties.
  • Introduce customers to the range of in-shop and online products and services.
  • Take part in training and on-the-job development to build skills and progress within the business.

Training and experience
