Role overview

This opportunity is for a Customer Service Agent to support a motor claims function in Dublin 12. The role is a temporary assignment with the potential to become permanent. You will be the first point of contact for policyholders, claimants, and third parties, helping them through the opening stage of the claims journey.

Core duties

The position sits within a motor claims team and covers claim intake, initial assessment, registration, allocation, and related administrative support. You will help manage incoming notifications, ensure information is captured correctly, and keep claims records accurate and up to date.

  • Handle first notification of loss calls and receive some paper-based claim notifications.
  • Speak with insured customers, claimants, and third parties as the main initial contact.
  • Record claim details carefully and ask follow-up questions where needed.
  • Review incoming claims to determine routing, triage, and next steps.
  • Enter data, allocate cases, and gather supporting information.
  • Promote network-approved services where appropriate to improve the customer experience.
  • Issue instructions to approved service providers.
  • Work with internal specialists when technical input is required.
  • Send relevant documents to insured customers.
  • Engage with brokers, especially for commercial fleet policies.
  • Maintain high-quality data entry to reduce rework and corrections.
  • Process mail and claims documentation, including scanning where needed, in a timely manner.
  • Keep systems and records accurate so claims information remains complete and reliable.
  • Support claim settlement preparation and produce bordereaux as part of general administration.
  • Work with a mentor to support learning, development, and progression.

Requirements

  • Previous exposure to insurance, broking, or claims work is essential.
  • APA in Insurance is required.
  • Comfortable using IT systems and databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident influencing others both inside and outside the business.
  • Well-developed organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and understand the wider business context.
  • Capable of staying focused, calm, and positive when under pressure.
  • Experience in a busy, deadline-driven environment is important.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a willingness to learn are expected.
  • Knowledge of motor claims classifications, motor policy processes, market agreements, developments, and quantum would be an advantage.

Additional information

This role is based onsite in Dublin 12 and is offered on a contract basis, with the possibility of moving into a permanent position.
