Role Overview

The Travel Claims Assessor is responsible for managing and evaluating travel claims in compliance with client guidelines and regulatory standards. The role requires upholding professional service levels, applying technical expertise, and ensuring timely processing while adhering to service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize personal workload through continuous updating of the Work Action Log.
  • Assess travel claims following CPC/FSA guidelines, client policy wordings, technical requirements, and service level agreements.
  • Maintain accurate and professional files and records for assigned claims.
  • Process claim payments promptly and accurately.
  • Operate within the bounds of personal Claims Handling Licence and escalate decisions beyond this authority to the Team Leader.
  • Identify potential fraud, recoveries, and complaints early, referring them to appropriate colleagues.
  • Immediately report all complaints to the Team Leader upon receipt.
  • Communicate clearly within the team and with claimants.
  • Assist the Team Leader in mentoring colleagues and fostering technical skills.
  • Support continuous service excellence to claimants and clients by identifying opportunities for operational improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of travel insurance products and policy wordings.
  • Understanding of the claims life cycle process.
  • Good analytical abilities and numeracy skills.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficient in IT, especially Word, Excel, and Notes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, showing initiative and creativity.

Additional Information

Sedgwick Ireland operates under the regulation of the Central Bank of Ireland and complies with the Minimum Competency Code (MCC). This role is classified as a Controlled Function (CF5 & CF6) and must meet Fitness and Probity Standards, including provisions under the Individual Accountability Framework Act 2023. Comprehensive regulatory training will be provided to successful applicants.
