Clerky builds software that helps startups and their attorneys handle legal paperwork more easily. The company is profitable, growing in a sustainable way, and is widely used by high-growth technology startups for formation, hiring, and fundraising.
In this role, you will represent the company to thousands of startup founders, investors, and attorneys who rely on Clerky for time-sensitive legal work. Because the business grows largely through referrals, customer satisfaction and high-quality support are central to the culture.
What the Role Involves
Customer operations at Clerky can be demanding and highly specialized. Many customer questions require careful thought, repeated refinement, and a strong ability to write clearly and accurately. You will also build practical knowledge of startups and startup law as part of the job.
The work is intellectually demanding and requires sustained concentration. It is best suited to someone who enjoys constant learning, welcomes challenge, and is comfortable not always having a single definitive answer. In many situations, the goal is to help customers understand their options and limitations rather than to provide a simple one-line resolution.

Responsibilities
- Respond to customer emails with thoughtful, empathetic, and well-written answers through Help Scout
- Create and update help center content, and identify gaps where new articles would help customers
- Partner with engineers to investigate and troubleshoot software issues reported by customers
- Use the product to build and manage new ways for customers to complete legal paperwork
- Support the product team by testing new features and fixes, and by relaying customer feedback
- Identify patterns in customer issues and flag important trends to the wider team
