Customer Delivery Driver - Prestwich Superstore

About the role

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you represent Tesco at customers’ homes and play a key part in making every delivery feel helpful, friendly, and reliable. The job is varied and practical, combining driving with customer service, careful handling of goods, and working independently for much of the day, while still being backed by managers and colleagues at the store.

Availability window

The role requires availability across the following times:

• Monday: 09:00 to 19:00
• Tuesday: 09:00 to 19:00
• Saturday: 18:00 to 22:00

Pay and hours

Hourly pay begins at £14.18, with the rate increasing to £15.45 in stores inside the M25. Some locations may also include extra payments. A guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week is offered, and positions from 12 hours per week are also available.

What you’ll be doing

• Keep the van, trays, and work area clean, orderly, and well organised so every order arrives in excellent condition.
• Load the vehicle safely and carry out the necessary checks to make sure it is ready, dependable, and legal for road use.
• Speak clearly and politely with customers about substitutions, changes, and short-dated products, and process refunds where appropriate.
• Handle every item carefully and treat each delivery with the same care you would give your own shopping.
• Deliver orders within the allotted time slot and provide a friendly, professional doorstep service that leaves customers feeling well looked after.

What you need

• Ability to work well with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
• A warm, approachable manner with both customers and coworkers.
• Willingness to adapt quickly when customer needs change, both on the road and in store.
• A full or automatic UK, EU, or EEA driving licence held for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.

This role is hands-on, physical, and fast-paced, with no two shifts being the same. You will spend much of your day working independently while staying connected to a supportive team at base.
