- Eligible recruits relocating to regional centres such as Capricornia, Townsville, or Lotus Glen can receive up to $7,000 relocation support.
- Custodial Correctional Officers in correctional centres earn a 31.5% aggregated shift allowance, whereas those in Courts Unit work standard 9am to 5pm hours without this allowance.
Applicant Profile and Requirements
No previous experience or qualifications are mandatory. Applicants need a current open or provisional driver’s license. Individuals from diverse backgrounds, including trades, hospitality, education, finance, or Defence Force, are encouraged to apply. Key personal attributes include energy, empathy, and resilience.
Digital proficiency is necessary, as daily tasks involve computer use for report writing, record keeping, and communication. Language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills proficiency will be evaluated during recruitment and training.

Main Duties
- Support prisoner education, vocational training, and employment initiatives.
- Assist with cultural engagement activities.
- Manage prisoner inductions and accommodation units.
- Perform perimeter security and external escort duties.
- Prepare detailed reports for case management purposes.
- Opportunities exist for specialization and advancement within the role.
