Job description
Overview
Located in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, this role involves spearheading the design and execution of a cohesive culture and engagement approach across all Beekman Group resorts nationwide. The Culture and Engagement Officer will be vital in aligning, motivating, and inspiring resort staff to embrace the company’s vision and objectives while boosting customer experiences. Close collaboration with Resort Management and Customer Experience teams is essential to cultivate positive culture, effective communication, and employee engagement.
Core Duties
- Assist the Staff Welfare Manager in defining, establishing, and nurturing the corporate culture.
- Lead the internal engagement efforts for the Beekman W.A.Y initiative, including creating actionable plans and goals, and ensuring leadership has valuable insights for progressive improvements.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies and programs aimed at continually enhancing employee engagement to boost organizational performance aligned with company values.
- Foster strong internal relationships while managing change and promoting communication related to culture-driven initiatives.
- Advise resort managers with best practices in employee communication to increase productivity, performance, and workplace pride.
- Encourage social activities and performance update events such as staff socials and guest interactions consistent with the Beekman W.A.Y Plan.
- Champion the creation and upkeep of employee recognition programs that are meaningful throughout the organization.
- Conduct staff training at various levels to reinforce and embed company culture.
- Manage special projects aimed at improving experiences for employees, customers, and shareholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of five years in a relevant role.
- Experience and background in internal communications.
- Proven track record in culture development and employee or customer engagement.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, independent thinking, and the capacity to address complex challenges from diverse viewpoints.
- Strong facilitation abilities.
- Capability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently, deliver high-quality results, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel extensively to resorts, as most work time will be on-site outside the main office in Port Shepstone.
