Credit Risk Leader - Consumer Lending

Role overview

This opportunity is for an experienced credit risk leader to shape and strengthen the risk framework for a consumer lending business in Saudi Arabia, with a specific emphasis on credit cards. The role centers on building sound credit policies, improving underwriting quality, and designing risk approaches that support expansion, regulatory compliance, and business profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update, and roll out credit risk policies that reflect local regulations and current market standards.
• Lead the full underwriting and decisioning process, including support for complex cases and data-driven improvements to approval decisions.
• Work with product, sales, and business teams to refine credit card propositions while keeping risk within acceptable levels.
• Use portfolio data to track health, delinquency trends, and profitability, then turn findings into clear recommendations.
• Coordinate with sales, operations, compliance, finance, and technology teams to ensure smooth and aligned execution.
• Serve as a SIMAH and regulatory compliance resource, with strong knowledge of Saudi credit bureau data and related requirements.
• Guide, coach, and develop risk and product team members while encouraging a strong risk-conscious and performance-oriented culture.

Requirements

• 12 to 15 years of professional experience in credit risk, specifically within consumer lending and credit cards.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in the Saudi credit card market.
• Strong background in credit policy, product management, underwriting, and risk analytics.
• In-depth understanding of SIMAH products, reports, and operational processes.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage stakeholders effectively.
• Comfort working in fast-changing environments with a results-focused and agile mindset.
